6-days vocation at Nexus Golf Rssort Karambunai ended on 6-Nov-09

On the 6th of November, 2009 was the date that ends my 6-days vocation at Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I checked out my hotel room at 10am. The hotel van left to Kota Kinabalu airport at about 10.10am. It was quite a smooth journey to the airport as today was a working day and at off-peak hours. No traffic jam was cited. I noticed besides the 1Borneo Complex, there is no much changes to the surrounding as compared to my last trip 8 months ago. There is not much development Kota Kinabalu despite the beaches are clean, and there is a port at the centre of the city. After I arrived the airport terminal 2 35 minutes later, I went to check in AirAsia Flight AK5103 to Kuala Lumpur at 12.30 pm. My flight was delayed for about 15 minutes due to some paper work with the airport authority. Nevertheless, the flight was a smooth ride. My flight arrived LCCT terminal at about 3.00 pm, 15 minutes late. I checked out from the arrival hall and headed for a restaurant for my late lunch as I was hungry. I sit down and recalled the 6-days trip at Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and tried to pick areas of interest to be posted on my blog. Even though I spend only 6 days at Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai, I have achieved alot especially I have leant to blog using video. Several of my blog post have already listed google page#1 with keyword such as “golfers lounge”, “teh tarik demonstration”, teh tarik halia” etc. Although these are not hot keywords, it proved a point in posting with video can get listed on google are extremely fast. My first blog post using video was up within 1-2 hours. In conclusion, my 6-days vocation not only is fun and enjoyable but also educational. learnt much more about google listing using youtube and blogging content. My learning is besides having quality content in the post, I must also do it frequently.

Peking duck Preparation

Have you eat Peking duck in a Chinese Restaurant before?  Do you know you eat only the skin? not with the meat? What? Eat only the skin? and pay for $30 for a bird?  You must be kidding? NO, I AM NOT.  but it is yummy !!!

I happen to take my dinner at a Chinese Restaurant at Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai, my next table customer ordered a Peking Duck. And I asked permission from the waitress if I can video tape the process of cutting up the bird. She allowed me to do so. This video clip is a bit long as it it about the time taken to peel the skin off the bird.  Enjoy the video

Teh Tarik and blogging at Golfers Lounge Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai, Koata Kinabalu, Sabah

There is nothing like having a glass of ”teh tarik” prepared by Mr. Rosdi at the Golfers Lounge, Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai.  While working on his blog, Dr. Foong did not forget his favorite “teh tarik”.  He study his newly put up blog on his 4th day at the Golf Resort and his traffic statistic by google Analytic. From the google analytical tool, there is a clear indication the visits to his SWOT Analysis blog is on the onward trend.

Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai Day 4

Today is my 4th day at this resort. I woke up 6.30 am, do my normal thing in the morning before I went to take my breakfast at Penyu coffee house at the main resort building.

CIMG2666a CIMG2668aAfter breakfast, I walked over to the golf house to register for a 18-hole game. I signed for a RM120 special price for senior golfer plus RM10 for golf insurance. The price include 18-hole golf, insurance, buggy and a bottle of drinking water. I collected my buggy and the distance detector from the staff and drove toward my room nearby to collect my golf set.

CIMG2662aI took this picture with Ms. Patricia, a staff at the golfers lounge. She has been very friendly and served my needs for food at the golfers lounge during lunch and dinner time.

At about 8am, I was ready to tee off at hole #1 short par-5, 435 meters off the blue tee. I tee shot was quite good, the ball landed on a small slope left of a big tree. Unfortunately, I hit the branches of the tree for my 2nd shot and the ball was slow down by the branch. It was landed at about 200 meters to the green. I hit my 3rd short with slightly fade and the ball roll into the bond. I took a penalty shot for my 5 stroke but the ball short the green by 2 meters. I had not a very good chip and holed the ball with 2 putts. What a start, it ended with 3 over for this part-5.

Today is quite crowded on the course. In front of me was a flight with 3 golfers taking lesson from a pro. I caught up with them at hole 5 par-3. I seek permission from the pro to pass them and tee off at hole #6. It was a smooth play for the first 9 which ended up 48 strokes with only 1 par at the hole#3 par-3.

I cross over to the second line and tee off at hole#10. It was a 326 meters par-4. My tee short send the ball to 100 meters to the green but I missed a regulation on. My chip was not good either and I holed the ball with 2 putts.
