Thank You for your well Wishes

Thank You for your phone calls and sms on 13-Nov-09.  I knew some of you called me and sms today but I apologize for not able to pick the call because I was involved in project improvement training for a SME until 8 pm. By the time I called back, your office were closed.

Some of you asked email me why am I not take life easy for my retirement? Why am I still want to pursue my Total Quality Management ?  I have a ex-colleague called to offer me a job to set up 6-sigma style improvement section in her bank, another ex-colleague asked me to help her to set up a community blog, another ex-colleague asked me whether I want to join him in China etc  Wow !  So nice of you. I am so touch that you still consider a retired person with such a challenging job. I am so pleased because I could see my true friends who tried to offer me something of value to me as well as to the their organization.

I believe all these well wishes are a result of my KNOWLEDGE.  Now I begin to appreciate one saying which I heard many years ago. It says:-

" Man can get old and die, but KNOWLEDGE remains"

I could not appreciate this saying then as I could not understand how KNOWLEDGE remains when a man is no longer in this world? But now I think hard about it, KNOWLEDGE will remain in this world if you store and keep it soon enough.

Before the Internet millennium, knowledge are stored in the form of books, leaflets, etc and get accessible in the library, own home. But now, you can store in the cyber space and accessible to anyone one via internet. How wonderful can it be when your piece of knowledge are now widely spread around the cyper space.

swot analysis template Yes, I am so pleased this morning that when I did a google search on keyword "swot analysis template", I noted my swot blog appeared on position #3 just  after a popular website. With this high ranking position on google, I received more than 9,500 unique visitors to my blog in the last 30 days as opposed to 909 in May 2009.

With this little achievement, I know I am on the right track with the right tactics to move my blog into top 10 on google search. My next challenge is to maintain it on position top 10 so that more people benefit from my knowledge in SWOT Analysis as well as other Total Quality Management knowledge. Wow ! Is that my Legacy ?

Friends, there is nothing more satisfied in life than you could see your dream come true. I guess with the right goal and determination, anything is possible !!!

Once again, I thank all of you for your well wishes and blessing and I wish you a healthy and happiness !

Welcome

Hi,

My name is Dr. L M Foong, PhD majoring in Total Quality Management. I was born in the year of 1952 in a small town called Bidor in Malaysia. I received my primary and secondary education in Chong Hua National Type School and studies two-years in vocational school where I received my Electrical Engineering education.

My Career Development

I started work at the age of 18 in a construction sites as a temporary workers until I was hired in a Associates Mine, in Puchong, Malaysia in 1972 as an apprentice electrician. Due to my background in Electrical Engineering, I was sponsored to take an external examination as a certified Chargeman (Electrician) in 1974. In the same year, I moved out of the Tin Mining company and joined a Plam Oil Mill in Kemaman, Trengganu for 2 years. This is a place where most people tried to avoid to work as the entire palm estate will be flooded during the monsoon seasons  during year end.

You likely wondered why I moved over there? Good Question! I moved there because I was aiming to take up the Higher Electrician Certificate in Power Station.

Believed me ! the live in the palm oil estate was very tough. Besides living in the middle of nowhere surrounded by palm trees, the food is unacceptable for many people due to lack of food supplies as it is located in a very remote area. It was my strong desire to get the higher certificate, I tolerated the living condition and worked on for 2 years until I successfully obtained the certificate. You know what I did after I got the certificate? I quit the job and went back to Kuala Lumpur without a job.

Lucky me, my friend recommended me to work in a semiconductor company – Motorala Inc. in Sungei Way, Selangor. It was a totally changed of work environment. In Motorola, the working environment was fully air conditioned in the production areas with piped-in music. I was on shift work with a condition that I worked while most of the people sound asleep. I worked very hard in Motorola and in 3-years, I was promoted to take up an upgrading project in a town called Seremban, about one hour drive south of Kuala Lumpur. My duty was to assist the project manager to renovate a newly bought building to turn it into a production facilities with similar set up as in the case of Sungei Way Plant.

to be continue ……….

I decided to set up this personal blog on 8-Sep-09 with an objective to connect with all my family members, relatives, colleagues, associates, students, friends and subscribers with an objective to create my Legacy of of life and my share my 38 years of work experience in various industries and the Application of Total Quality Management.

I intend to update this blog with my personal as well as corporate happenings in this blog and I welcome your regualar visits and please leave a comment so that I knew you have dropped by my blog.
